Ash Priors water supply improvements
We are making improvements to the water supply network in and around Ash Priors.
Work started in April to replace the existing 4 inch cast iron water main that runs along Combe Flory Road.
The main is many years old and regularly requires flushing which means often customers experience supply interruptions. By replacing the main there will no longer the need for regular mains flushing.
Mark Floyd, lead engineer for the scheme, said: “The main will be replaced using a modern trenchless technique where possible which will help to minimise disruption to the local community and allow us to complete the work quicker.”
Around 1700m of new main will be laid in Combe Flory Road which means the road will be closed while the work takes place. Residents within the closure have been informed and will have access maintained to their properties.
A local diversion will be in place and appropriately signed.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the essential work, which will last for around 12 weeks.
If anyone has any questions about the project they can call lead engineer Mark Floyd on 0845 600 4 600.
