Our region
Located in the south west of England and covering 10,000 square kilometres our region is predominantly rural, but with two major urban areas.
The Bristol and Bath area in the north west has a population of around 750,000 and in the south east the Bournemouth and Poole area has a population of about 300,000.
The region’s landscape is varied, ranging from the Mendip Hills and the levels of Somerset to the cliffs of Dorset and Wiltshire’s Salisbury Plain.
The two coastlines have a number of popular holiday resorts such as Weston super Mare and Minehead on the north coast and Bournemouth, Poole and Weymouth on the south coast.
