Customers and communities

Customers and communities

Relationships with customers, regulators, interest groups and others.

For us to be operating sustainably, we need to have responsible, clear and co-operative relationships with others. This means:

  • looking after public health through good drinking water and sewerage services
  • having high standards of customer service
  • working with others – from customers to businesses, regulators and other interest groups
  • providing good access and recreational facilities, where public access is possible.

Our aim is to provide water and sewerage services that support society’s health and wellbeing, whilst providing customers with excellent service and appropriate tariffs.

During 2008-9 we have continued this in a variety of ways. For example, ongoing work to safeguard drinking water quality has included catchment management with farmers and our extensive laboratory services. We have also looked at tariffs that respond to customers’ needs as well as working with others, eg, through our water efficiency trials.
