Case study - WaterSave pack
Like all natural resources, water is precious and should not be wasted.
Furthermore, the treatment and delivery of water to our customers is very energy intensive, and so by helping customers reduce what they waste we reduce the carbon footprint of supplying clean water too.

Every five years Ofwat sets water companies water efficiency targets. Our target is to achieve savings of 0.55 million litres a day for each year between 2010 and 15; this is equivalent to a reduction of one litre per property per day. This pack is one way in which we hope to meet our target.
As part of our ongoing commitment to encourage efficient use of water we have launched a free WaterSave pack for our customers.
The packs will help all customers save water and lower their energy bills, and customers with a water meter could save money on their water bills too.
On average customers on a water meter should save £60 per year on their water bill if they use all elements of the pack.
The pack includes a shower flow regulator to reduce the flow rate in power and mixer showers; a save a flush bag for use in cisterns, to save a litre every flush; a self audit guide to help customers work out where the most water is used in the home and garden.
The pack is sustainable in design with minimal packaging and the majority can be recycled.
We will promote this pack to our customers in a number of ways, including in customer literature, our customer magazine, on our website and in regional newspapers.
Customers can request this free pack through www.wessexwatershop.co.uk or by calling 0845 371 0727.
We promote other water saving products on our shop website and also have a new part of the site for Saving Water.
