Senior engineer - waste water infrastructure design

Summary
Fancy a real challenge in 2021? Are you an experienced Civil Engineer who thrives on being an engineering expert within a wastewater infrastructure network role? If so, we have a unique opening for a Senior Engineer to join our Wastewater design team. If you’re excited by the prospect of working in a highly technical and detailed role, then we have the perfect opportunity for you!

What will I be doing?
As a Senior Engineer, you will lead and drive design activities for a number of high-value, complex sewerage infrastructure projects. Your in-depth experience will enable you to work effectively alongside our in-house contracting partners to produce innovative, compliant and cost-effective design solutions.

Day-to-day you will be part of a team of infrastructure design professionals, working closely with other engineering disciplines and support services, meeting the quality, financial and programme requirements of the project delivery team.

A key part of your role will be to produce the options, outline and detailed design deliverables associated with gravity and pressurised sewerage systems to resolve flooding and improve the environment, including: technical and commercial reports, calculations, technical specifications and engineering drawings in line with company and industry technical standards.

You will also assist in the design governance procedure for the team, including checking documentation and drawings.

Alongside your technical activities, you will be proactive in mentoring and supporting the technical development of team members to ensure continuity of team skills.

What are the requirements?
To do all of this, you'll be a qualified Civil Engineer who is chartered by a recognised professional body. You will have a minimum of 10 years' experience in sewerage network design, a thorough understanding of CDM 2015, Sewers for Adoption, as well as sewer rehabilitation and UID/CSO design experience.

In addition, you'll have good IT skills and practical experience of InfoWorks CS/ICM and GIS systems.

This experience and your excellent interpersonal and communication skills will allow you to develop and maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate efficient delivery of your projects.

You will be based at our Claverton Down offices in Bath but will also be working at a range of our other sites and offices, so you need to be able to travel too.
