Land Entry Administration Apprentice

Level 3 Land Entry Apprentice

The role

The Land Entry team is a service provider within the Engineering and Construction arm of Wessex Water. The team facilitates entry on to all private land where we need to carry out work, as part of the capital programme, using our Statutory Powers contained in the Water Industry Act 1991.

The successful applicant’s role will involve reporting to the Land Entry Manager, providing technical administration support to the land entry team, as well as advice and assistance relating to all elements of entry onto private land to carry out works.

A key element of the role is ensuing that Wessex Water’s obligation contained in the Water Industry 1991 and our Code of Practice is adhered to.

Responsibilities

As a good communicator, you will establish ownership and occupation details of private land that will be affected by capital schemes by means of land registry searches. You will also be involved in checking billing records, electoral rolls, internet searches and making direct contact with third parties. This information will then be collated and issued by the design engineer. 

You will be preparing statutory notices for service on all third parties where entry onto private land is required, in addition to monitoring the receipt of third-party early entry consents where required. You will also contact landowners/occupiers when necessary to ensure land entry is achieved in accordance with our programme.

You will offer general administration support to the Land Entry Manager and wider Land Entry team.

The candidate

You should be a confident communicator, who is organised and has excellent interpersonal skills which enable you to interact with all levels of staff and external contacts. You should also possess the ability to solve problems quickly and effectively while being able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines

Either before or during the apprenticeship, you will be required to achieve level 2 qualifications in English and mathematics prior to taking the end point assessment

Skills and experience

Essential:

  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Strong and confident communicator with excellent telephone manner
  • Knowledge of Office365
  • Excellent attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Full clean driving licence
