The role

The Quality team is part of the Business Improvement team within Engineering and Sustainable Delivery (ESD). Our aim is to deliver efficiencies to the business through a range of improvement and change initiatives. A key part of this involves providing advice and guidance, as well as maintaining, monitoring, auditing and improving systems and documents being used internally as part of the ISO 9001 management system.

Reporting to the quality manager, this is a key role within ESD’s quality management team and is responsible for driving continuous improvement and maintaining the quality management system in accordance with requirements of ISO9001:2015




The Apprentice Quality Improvement Technician role will be key to supporting the Quality team’s continuous improvement activity, including quality auditing, carrying out improvement reviews of ESD processes, quality incident investigations and providing a high level of customer service.

You will employ the process improvement, Lean and Six Sigma knowledge and skills methodology gained during your apprenticeship in your daily work supporting the ESD business.

The candidate

We are seeking somebody who can embody and demonstrate the organisation’s values and deliver excellent customer service to our internal stakeholders.

Either before or during the apprenticeship, you will be required to achieve level 2 qualifications in English and mathematics prior to taking the end point assessment

You’ll need to be willing to work collaboratively with fellow team members and with our internal customers in order to further team and company objectives.

  • Excellent attention to detail


  • Full clean driving licence
