Water refill

Water refill

We’re on a mission to reduce the use of single-use plastic bottles by installing water refill points in towns and cities across the region.

Help us to fight against plastic pollution by choosing to refill instead of buying bottled drinks.

Why is refill important?

In the UK 7.7 billion plastic water bottles are used each year - a large amount of these end up in waterways, harming both the environment and wildlife.

By installing refill points throughout the area we serve, we aim to reduce the use of single-use plastic bottles and lessen the impact they have on the planet.

If the average person uses a reusable bottle, it will cut the need for 100 disposable plastic bottles per year.

If you see a refill point in your area or on your travels, top up your bottle with tap water for free.

Where can you find our refill points?

We are installing new units across the south west and have already installed them in the following locations:

  • County Hall, Trowbridge
  • Market Square, Salisbury
  • High Street, Salisbury
  • The Market Place, Devizes
  • Warminster Library and Museum
  • Hope Square, Weymouth
  • The Esplanade, Weymouth
  • New Bond Street, Weymouth
  • Alexandra Gardens, Weymouth
  • South Street, Dorchester
  • Bucky Doo Square, Bridport
  • Market Place, Blandford Forum

More refill points will be coming to Wiltshire, Dorset, Somerset and Bath during 2021.

Are our refill points safe to use?

All our refill points will be cleaned and maintained regularly to ensure high standards of water quality and hygiene.

To use our refill points safely during this time we recommend that you:

  • wash your hands before and after using the unit
  • keep a safe distance from the person in front of you if you’re queuing
  • don’t touch the unit’s nozzle with the top of your bottle
  • minimise contact with the unit by only touching the refill button.

More information about using refill points safely can be found on Refill’s Covid-19 guidance page.
