Edventure Frome, Somerset

Our funding has helped Edventure Frome provide their core support to local people. We met with Co-Executive Director Dr Sam Evans to find out more.

What is Edventure Frome?

Sam: " Edventure Frome is a community-led enterprise incubator that helps people gain skills, confidence and experience while creating projects that make a real difference.

How has our grant helped?

Sam: "The Community Fund grant was crucial for providing core operational support for a number of Edventure Frome's programmes in 2024/25.

"This includes Enterprising Women, a new community fridge site at Frome College, the Comms for Change course and a community DIY store.”

Can you tell us a bit more about one of your projects?

Sam: "The first community fridge in Frome was supported by us. Terri, who started the first one in the town, has now opened a second with volunteers.

"They collect surplus food from local shops and outlets. The community fridge is fighting food waste, and all the food is free and open to anyone who needs it.”
